Research Subjects
Blueleaf maintains an ongoing research interest in many water and wastewater treatment issues that are investigated across multiple pilot sites. Once a research interest is established, each pilot project that is completed helps to answer fundamental questions about the subject. We do this to better understand the processes that we test, and to establish and evaluate predictive models. A list of research topics includes:
1. Performance of Pressure Filtration Systems at Sites with High-Manganese, Low-Iron Raw Water
2. Arsenic Removal at Sites with Naturally-Occurring Manganese
3. Model to Predict Filter Media Capacity for Iron, Manganese, and Arsenic Filtration Systems
4. Removal of Dissolved Inorganic Contaminants from Groundwaters with Organic Complexing
5. Biological Iron and Manganese Removal from Groundwater Systems
6. Coagulant Demand of Phosphorus Removal from Wastewater Facilities
